Principal Analyst and Director of Research Division
Ms. Izumi Kaizuka currently serves as Principal Analyst and Director of Research Division in RTS Corporation, a PV specialized consultancy in Tokyo established in 1983.
In RTS corporation, she has been conducting research projects of PV policy, market and industrial trends for METI, NEDO and other organizations in home and abroad. Among her projects, she was notable for her contribution to IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS) under International Energy Agency. Since 2003, she has been a Japanese representative to IEA PVPS Task 1, an international working group for “Strategic PV Analysis & Outreach” and serves as deputy operating agent. She is one of the authors of Task 1’s key annual report “Trends in Photovoltaic Applications” and provide analysis of global PV industry as well as Japanese PV market trends. Trends Report is most downloaded one among the reports published by IEA PVPS and widely used by policy decision makers, trade associations and academia.
She also contributes to global corroboration on PV standards as the chair of the national committee of IEC TC82. Besides these international activities, she is committed to promoting female PV researchers and business persons as the chair of WinPVJ, Division of Women in Photovoltaics, JSPS 175th Committee on Innovative Photovoltaic Power Generating Systems and PVTTMT, a business women’s network.
As a leading analyst in Japan, she has been invited as a speaker or panellist for international and domestic conferences. She is the author or co-author of more than 50 scientific papers and regularly writes articles for PV-related magazines.
In PVSEC-27, she was awarded the “PVSEC Special Award” at an awards ceremony of the 27th International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-27) held in Shiga, Japan on November 13, 2017. The prize is awarded to a company or individual that has shown an outstanding contribution to the solar industry and the promotion of photovoltaic solar energy conversion.
