The 6th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2024, a cornerstone event for sustainable energy dialogue and innovation, is scheduled for August 20-21, 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Organised by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, hosted by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the Summit is themed “Accelerating Energy Transition Through Innovation”.
Scheduled to be officiated by the Yang Amat Berhormat Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the 6th ISES 2024 is a testament to Malaysia’s leadership in the ASEAN region’s sustainable energy transition. The country has set an ambitious target to achieve a 70% renewable energy mix in its power generation by 2050. This goal aligns with Malaysia’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon neutrality by the same year. The Summit will serve as a platform to further these objectives by fostering regional and global partnerships, sharing best practices, and showcasing the latest innovations in the field.
The Summit will include Plenary Sessions and Deep Dive Workshops led by distinguished energy experts and leaders. The sessions will explore a range of topics, including green mobility, grid modernisation, and the integration of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles into investment and financing strategies. The event will also underscore the importance of developing new energy technologies and nurturing young talent to ensure a robust future for the energy sector.
Amongst the lineup of speakers are Dr Amir Hisham Hashim, the General Manager for Asia of PSC Singapore; Hairol Azizi Tajudin, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cenergi-SEA Berhad; Datuk Khairuddin Tan Sri Mohd Hussin, Chief Executive Officer of Concord Green Energy Sdn Bhd; and Dr Graeme Hutchison, Principal Consultant Strategic Advisory from PSC UK Ltd.
To add to the illustrious line up, the Yang Berusaha Tuan Ahmad Zairin Ismail, Chairman of Authority at SEDA Malaysia will also be speaking at the Deep Dive Workshop. Joining him will be Dr Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan, a Board Member and Ts. Steve Anthony Lojuntin, Director of Technical Development & Facilitation also from SEDA Malaysia.
